Academic Peer Mentoring

Academic Peer Mentoring matches undergraduate students with a peer mentor who will help them improve their academic success skills. These are skills that can be applied across a wide range of courses and throughout your educational career.

Peer Mentoring Session Information

Topics for mentoring sessions might include

  • Time management
  • Discipline/organization
  • Notetaking
  • Study techniques
  • Preparing for exams
  • And more!

Peer mentors are not trained to assist with the following topics

  • Creating 4-year plans
  • Academic Advising
  • Sleep management
  • Mental health counseling
  • Learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, etc.

Peer Mentoring Time Commitment

  • Mentees commit to meeting with their peer mentor every week for one hour.
    • Mentees can use mentoring for the entire semester or discontinue mentoring once they have received the help they need
  • At your first meeting, you will find a time that works best for you and your mentor’s schedule.
  • You can request to meet with your mentor in person at the ASC or via zoom.

Fall 2026 Requests are open! Please watch the orientation video prior to filling out the request below.

Peer Mentoring Request

You will be emailed when matched with a peer mentor. You are expected to reply, confirming your first session within 2 business days of being matched.

Fall 2026 requests will close Wednesday, October 28th at 12pm.
