Tutor and Peer Mentor Positions
The Academic Success Center recruits both peer tutors and mentors every semester. Both positions are on-campus, paid opportunities for students who enjoy helping their peers be academically successful. The first step in the application process is to attend an information session.
Spring 2025 Employment Information Sessions
You will be required to log in with your name and NC State email address in order to attend the Information Session via Zoom. We use this information to send participants a copy of the application at the end of the session.

Employment Requirements
- Be an enrolled full-time undergraduate student with at least a 3.250 cumulative GPA
- Have completed at least one full semester at NC State by the start of the first semester of employment. Preference given to students who have completed an entire academic year at NC State.
- Be a model student with a desire to help others learn
- Can fit USC 210, a 1-credit hour training course, into your schedule during your first semester of employment
- Work at least 4 hours per week for two consecutive semesters
- Have earned a B+ or higher in the courses you wish to tutor (tutors only)
- Have completed two semesters of college as a full-time students (required for peer mentors, preferred for tutors)
